Jello shots really aren't a beverage, but I put them here since they contain alcohol like several of the beverages here. They add a ton of fun to any adult party--I say adult because if the kids see them, they will want them. Beware, because while you can't taste the alcohol, enough of them will turn YOU into a wobbly bowl of jello.
The original recipe that I was given used grape jello with vodka, but of course, I've done some experimenting here as well, and have come up with some delicious flavors. I've mixed blackberry jello with grape Pucker and blue raspberry jello with Blue UV--both have turned out delicious. One time I used black vodka with grape (just because it was the only vodka I had on hand). I don't recommend mixing whiskey with anything and only use a flavored brandy, like apricot or apple as they're a little more mellow in flavor. The plain brandy and whiskey just have too much bite for even sugary jello to cover up.
-4 boxes of jello in the flavor of your choice
-2 1/2 cups boiling water
-1/2 cup vodka or other alcoholic beverage
Empty the jello packages into a glass mixing bowl. Pour in hot water and stir until jello is completely dissolved. Mix in the alcohol and pour into a 13x9 pan. Chill in the refrigerator until set. This usually means overnight. Oh, and do not try to use a disposable tin or aluminum pans. (I know from experience that they will leak all over your refrigerator.)
When the jello is set, you can cut it in squares and serve them in little plastic shot glasses. Your guests will love them!
